Denim, a timeless and versatile staple in the global fashion scene, once again proved its strength with $4 billion in worldwide exports in 2024. Within this landscape, Türkiye distinguished itself through both its production capacity and trend-setting design vision, reaching an export volume of $291 million to become the world’s fourth-largest exporter of denim fabric. At the same time, Türkiye maintained its position as the largest denim supplier to the European Union, solidifying its role as a strategic player shaping Europe’s denim demand.
The 2024 figures clearly highlight Türkiye’s geographic diversity and growth potential in denim exports. Denim exports from Türkiye to Egypt surged by 44.3% in 2024, reaching $70 million. Exports to Tunisia, the second-largest destination, rose by 13.6% to $58 million, while shipments to Morocco increased by 22.6% to $32 million.
Beyond key European markets like Italy, Germany, and Spain, Turkish denim has also attracted growing interest from major producer countries such as Bangladesh, Vietnam, the United States, and even China. Particularly notable were the 85.1% growth in exports to Spain and 43% growth to Vietnam, underscoring how Turkish manufacturers stand out in the global competitive landscape with their pricing, quality, and sustainable production capabilities.
By combining its unique logistical advantage at the crossroads of East and West with production power that meets high technical and environmental standards, Türkiye is today creating a globally recognized brand value in denim—one of the most competitive segments in the textile industry.
