Trends today go beyond colors, patterns, or silhouettes. As consumer expectations evolve and values like sustainability and ethical production come to the forefront, the very meaning of “trend” has expanded. It now encompasses not only aesthetics but also mindset, method, and purpose. Trends Lab at Texhibition Istanbul is a direct response to that evolution.
Curated by designer and Co-Chair of the Fashion Designers Association Belma Özdemir, the March 2025 edition of Trends Lab invited visitors into a narrative where nature and technology are not opposites, but allies. From forward-thinking materials to sustainably engineered designs, the space brought together function, form, and feeling.
Beyond seasonal forecasts, the lab featured biobased materials, natural dyes, next-gen yarns, and transformation-driven design strategies. It offered visitors the chance to see how the language of nature and the logic of innovation can co-exist—shaping not only what we make but how we imagine.
At its core, Trends Lab was more than a display; it was a statement. The concept designed by Özdemir bridged the visionary with the intuitive, bringing together bold thinkers and sensory designers in a shared space. It reminded visitors that fabric is never just surface—it’s a medium of meaning. And the future? It’s already taking shape.
