Environmentally Friendly Sustainable Fabrics

Climate change, which occurs with different results every day, brings along new searches. Sustainable and nature-friendly fabrics are among the ways to minimize the impact of the fashion industry on the environment and humans.

Fashion Fabrics produced from natural, recycled materials using environmentally friendly methods and causing the least harm to the environment are called sustainable fabrics. The practices and materials used during production are a determining criterion for sustainable fabrics.

Recycled and Organic Cotton

Among the indispensable raw materials of textile, cotton is the most common. However, the amount of water consumed by cotton during its production brings new ideas to mind. Recycled and organic cottons, which minimize their impact on nature, are among the most sustainable fabrics. Organic cotton is produced with environmental movements compared to conventional production. In organic cotton, which does not use chemicals, less water is used and less energy is consumed.

Organic Hemp

Among the fabrics that do not harm nature, organic hemp produced from hemp stalks are among the fabrics that do not harm nature. Fibers found in the stems of the hemp plant are used in the production of yarn, fabric and weaving. Hemp fiber, which is the most durable and strong natural fiber, requires less water than organic cotton. In addition, it does not harm the nature thanks to its quickly biodegradable feature.

Organic Flax

Organic linen is among the sustainable fabrics thanks to its long-lasting, light and breathable fabric feature. It also has a feature that can be dissolved in nature in its raw form.

Lyocell - Tencel

Lyocell, a semi-synthetic fabric type woven with fibre, which has become very popular lately in terms of fashion sustainability, is obtained from eucalyptus trees. While it does not require much water, it has minimal impact on the environment.

Modal

This type of fabric, known as rayon, is produced from beech wood and is semi-synthetic. The content of tmodal is completely natural and it is among the most sustainable fabrics.
